Zoologist Research Page

A Zoologist is someone who studies animals.  As a zoologist, your job in this webquest is to do some research to learn everything you can about animals.  Here are some questions to guide you in your search.  Feel free to add more questions or information to your journal as you study.  Use the Internet, encyclopedias, your Science textbook, and trade books.  You may even want to interview a local zoologist.

Questions to guide your research:

1.  Why are animals called "consumers"?

2.  What do animals need to survive?

3.  How do animals get energy?

4.  Animals are put into one of three categories based on what they eat.  What are the categories and what does each category mean?

5.  What happens to animals when they die?

6.  What are parasites?

7.  How do human actions affect other animals?

8.  How are other populations of animals affected when there is an increase of one species in an ecosystem?  How are populations affected when there is a decrease in one species?
