Our class has started our Government Unit. This is one of the largest units that we will study in Social Studies this year. Please be sure to ask your student daily about the new information they are learning about our United States Government.
We are starting with the Executive Branch of Government. At the end
of this unit each student should be able to answer the following questions:
1. What is the main job of the Executive Branch of Government?
2. Who is the leader of the Executive Branch?
3. What are the three parts of the Executive Branch of Government?
4. What are the qualifications to be President?
5. What are the main duties of our President?
6. How long can a President/Vice-President serve?
7. Can the President be removed from office? For what reasons?
8. What building is the Executive Branch of Government located in?
Judicial Branch. At the end of this unit each student should
be able to answer the following questions:
1. How many justices on the Supreme Court?
2. What building is the Supreme Court held?
3. What do you call the head justice?
4. Who appoints the Supreme Court Judges?
5. Who approves the Supreme Court Judges?
6.
How long do Justices serve?
Legislative Branch. At the end of this unit each student should be able to answer the following
questions:
1. What are the two houses of congress?
2. What is the main job of the Legislative Branch?
3. What are the duties for each house?
4. How long do Representatives and Senators serve?
5.
What building is the Legislative Branch?
